Fondazione Malagutti onlus, in partnership with Associazione Illustratori and Red Publishing, promotes the 5th International Illustration Competition, entitled: “We are the future”, whose aim is to promote and spread the Manifesto about “International Movement for the respect of Children‘s rights”.
The initiative was introduced at the conference press by Serena Spadini, member of Fondazione Malagutti onlus, on Tuesday, 20 March 2012 at the “Bologna Children’s book fair” (Bologna Fair-Pavillon n. 25/Stand A181).
The Competition “We are the future” has different aims: it does not only want to involve national and international illustrators in creating an artistic work enhancing their sensibility, but it also wants to focus our attention on the respect of children’s rights.
The illustration becomes the physical way used to spread a message having a universal meaning: the respect of children’s rights, a respect we must put in action every day, in their daily life and in their growth.
“We are the future” contains a real, strong, universal meaning but it also represents our involvement in defending children, attending them in a happy and free growth, because we really want to hear children saying: “We are the future”.
The artist winning the competition will be awarded a cash prize of €1200 and his/her illustration will be the official image for posters and participation form concerning the 12th edition of International Drawing Competition, which is addressed to children from 3 to 14. He/she will receive a free copy of the workbook. The second-place contestant will receive € 500 and a free copy of the workbook. The competition, organized by Fondazione Malagutti onlus, aims at promoting Children’s rights and honoring the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child At the end of competition, a skilled jury will select the worthiest works among those given in the previous four editions to the Foundation and these works will be included in a workbook. Works can be on display in Mantua or in other Italian or foreign places.
