III Edition - Competitions for illustrators: Rules

REGULATION

  1. The competition intends to make the best of the ability and the sensibility of every illustrator in representing the world of childhood with a particular attention to social themes and to the utmost respect for children rights.
     
  2. The competition is open to every Italian and Foreign professional illustrator who is 18 years of age.
     
  3. Every illustrator can present a maximum of 3 original and unpublished works of which he/she guarantees the authorship, about “Warm… hot… boiling hot”.
     
  4. The illustrations may be realized by any technique and support.
    Upright size not larger than cm 29,7x42 and not smaller than cm 15x21. The original work must be sent with a copy on a cd (tiff or jpg format at a 300 dpi resolution graphics and in quadrichromy cmyk).
    Digital works must be printed in high resolution and signed by its author.

  1. Every illustration must enclose: participation form, a presentation of the author with a photo for print of the catalogue and the entry fee payment: € 30,00 fixed for an illustration and  €  50,00 for three works (€ 10,00 all inclusive for AI/EIF’s members). All works will be laid out in an exhibition for the selection and published on web site www.dirittiacolori.it
     
  2. Jury will judge the worthiest illustrations given to Fondazione Malagutti onlus during the three editions of illustration competition; selected pictures will be published in a catalogue for this initiative. Those artists will have their own space for their biographic notes; moreover they will receive freely a copy of the volume and 15 excerpts. Illustrations will have the possibility to require other copies of the catalogue or/and excerpts with fee. These works can be laid out in Mantova or in other places in Italy or abroad. If illustrations are published or used with business aim the author’s rights will be agreed with the artist.
     
  3. The payment has to be done through bank credit for Fondazione Malagutti onlus, pointing out the reason: 3rd International Competition of illustration

  4. The works have to be sent within January 17, 2011 with a charges forward delivery (the postmark is available), to the following address: Fondazione Malagutti onlus via dei Toscani n° 8 - 46010 Curtatone (Mn) Italia.
     
  5. A technical jury will decide the winner work. The decision of jury will be final about anything not specified in this regulation.
     
  6. The first classified work will be used as the official image for the 10th  Edition 2011 of the International Drawing Competition directed to the children from 3 to 14 years of age.
    To the author of the first classified work a prize of € 1000,00 will be paid. The outcome of initiative will be communicated by e-mail.
     
  7. Accepting the prize, the author recognizes the acquisition of the property of the work and the rights connected to the Fondazione Malagutti onlus. Fondazione Malagutti onlus can use it  for cultural, social and promotional aims, always quoting the author’s name.
     
  8. The artists who don’t give their work will receive it within March 14th  2011 with a charges forward delivery.
     
  9. Fondazione Malagutti onlus reserves itself the right to suspend/change the International Illustrator Competition in any moment and not to go with the selection. In case of suspension of the initiative, the entrance-fees will be refunded and the drawing will be returned in charges of Foundation.
    In taking part in competition each author accepts the conditions of this regulation. Authors assume full responsibility, either civil or penal, coming from the presentation of their works setting free the Fondazione Malagutti onlus from any responsibilities.
     
  10. While exhibition is laying out, an insurance policy (against theft, fire and damage) with a limit of indemnity  of € 250,00 will be activated. The limit of indemnity can be increased in charges of authors.
     
  11. For every lawsuit concerning the selection, publication or anyway connected to the initiative, the court of Mantua will be exclusively competent.
