The association of illustrators was established in 1980; its members are primarily of freelance illustrators as well as authors, artists, working in field of illustration, comic strip, advertising and animation.
As it’s the only body to represent illustrators in Italy, it has successfully increased the standing of illustration as a profession and improved the commercial and ethical conditions of employment for illustrators, especially in national and international public relations.
From 2003 it is a member of EIF, European Illustrators forum, a group of associations formed to safeguard illustrators’ rights and assist the continental promotion of illustration. http://www.associazioneillustratori.it/
